BRIEF HISTORY

Permodalan Capital Bhd. (PCB) was incorporated and has been in operation as a public investment trading company since 1971 under the name of Permodalan Sabah Berhad initially.

The Corporate Objectives of PCB are: (1) To increase profit from operation for distribution to shareholders. (2) To gain profitable ownership and management control of corporations and provide investment growth to shareholders.

To achieve these objectives the company has been aggressively and continuously identifying profitable business ventures for investment based on relatively high returns, low risks and capital outlay. In addition, it diversifies its operations in relation to other investments in the portfolio. Presently, the company operates four major investment and financial services activities.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

Investment Trading

We invest and trade mainly in quoted financial instruments at regional exchanges. Our core strategies are a combination of fundamental, technical and quantitative analysis; and system driven.

We firmly believe in knowing well the industries, managements and financial positions of the companies that we intend to invest and trade.

The company conducts its own empirical research and had the best performing equities fund in the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange since 1993 for several years, until voluntary liquidation, according to Watson Wyatt survey.

Consumer Financing

We provide consumer finance mainly to civil servants and employees of government linked companies since year 2000.

Real Estate

We are a passive investor in landed properties for long term capital appreciation, and as collateral for financial leverage rather than an active investor such as development of the landed property.

Private Equity

We provide secured bridging finance to companies that are in need of capital, corporate, financial and economics advisory services. Our criteria for this type of investment are mainly a good business model and competent management.
